A child going in to hospital is frightening at any time even if it just a straightforward operation. There are a huge range of emotions involved and some can be totally irrational – I’m not ashamed to say I’ve had most of them this week.
Are there rules or an etiquette for when you take children in to a coffee shop? Do you think about how to entertain you child when you are having a quiet coffee? What happens when your peaceful cuppa’s disturbed by a rowdy small person?
How do you handle screaming children when it’s you they’re shouting and ranting at? Are there protocols for dealing with someone who has clearly got it into their head that they are already obeying a rule and can’t possibly break it for something you are telling them to do?
